Planning brief
Define the model your business needs.
Record the operating scope, known inputs and decisions a financial model should address.

You can prepare a planning brief here. The tool saves a text file to your device; it does not send a request or commission any work.
Describe the operation
- Business format, location, currency and planning period
- What customers pay for and how payment is collected
- Opening schedule, demand and capacity limits
- Premises, equipment, staffing and dated quotes
- Funding sources and known payment terms
- The decisions the model should help examine
Separate facts from estimates
Keep the source and date for each known figure. Mark unresolved costs and demand assumptions instead of treating them as zero.
If you combine activities, describe how they share customers, staff, premises and equipment. Separate workbook forecasts do not automatically account for shared resources.
Review existing workbook descriptions to identify which mechanisms fit your intended operation and which are missing.
